Emken Closes First Reporting Period With Outstanding Fundraising Results and Strong Support

January 27th

Danville, CA - In her initial Federal Election Committee reporting period as a candidate for Congress, Elizabeth Emken 2010 took in $301,817 and closed out the period with $246,081 cash on hand.

“The overwhelming response I have received from donors--in my home District and around the country--is gratifying,” Emken remarked. “I want to thank all those who have enthusiastically backed my campaign through cash donations and volunteer hours. “

Elizabeth loaned the committee $200,000 and raised $101,817 from donors within California, the District of Columbia and in 15 additional states across the nation. Her run for office has received nationwide attention and support and has been greeted with wide-spread enthusiasm within the diverse 11th District.

“With such a strong fundraising result so early in the campaign I am confident we will have the necessary resources to not only win the primary,” Elizabeth told a gathering of supporters, “but to unseat the incumbent, Congressman McNerney in November!”

The first candidate forum for the 11th District was held in Manteca, sponsored by the South San Joaquin Republicans on January 11th. Press coverage for Emken after the event was enthusiastic. Roll Call referred to the 11th District race as the “Elizabethan Era” citing Emken as “a front runner in the race.”
