Release: Emken Clears First Major Hurdle to Represent CD-11 as Fundraising Events Multiply

February 25th

Danville, CA - Elizabeth Emken, Republican candidate in California’s District 11, cleared the first major hurdle to represent the district this past week when she filedthe required documents to place her name on the ballot for the June 8th primary. A nearly twenty year resident of the district, Elizabeth is committed to fighting for lower taxes and morejob opportunities for the citizens of CD 11 beginning in 2011.

“The Washington of Jerry McNerney – and Speaker Pelosi, who he robotically follows – is out ofcontrol,” Emken told a group of supporters. “I first went to Washington to fight for my own family, and particularly my developmentally disabled son Alex– but after more than a decade fightingagainst the bureaucracy, I have learned how to make government smaller and moreaccountable, an education which I want to put to use representing all the families of the 11 th District.”

Emken’s fundraising momentum continues with coast to coast activities scheduled over the nextfew weeks including multiple in-district events. She continues to set the pace on the importantFacebook “new media” frontier, as supporters recognize Elizabeth as the only candidate thatgenuinely represents fresh, new leadership and experience for CD 11.
